I have been searching for THE prefect checked trouser in such a long time, but after multiple shopping trips and overuse of the phrase ‘they’re just not exactly what I want’ as if it were stuck on repeat, I finally confessed to myself…so maybe I am tad fussy. You know when you just have a vision, or that saved photo on Instagram with a piece of clothing you want, but the shop isn’t tagged and you can’t find anything similar, its a struggle.
BUT, after a much needed trip to Westfields my mission is over as I have finally found the prefect check, and I can’t wait to style this piece for spring. It was a bit of a palaver to find them; I originally bought some in Bershka men’s (these ones) which were super comfy, fit really well and seemed like the perfect ones, however, after buying them and feeling fairly happy with them, it completely threw me when I saw these (similar) in Pull & Bear.
So, as anyone in my situation would do, I decided the only sensible action to take was have a mini fashion show and try both pairs on in the changing rooms until I made up my mind….
Why they are THE perfect checked trouser
First of all I just love the overall style of these trousers, they are fairly loose fitting which makes them super comfy and easy to just throw on, but they are not too baggy like the tailored style joggers which are also popular. The print and style means that they are so versatile in that they could be more of a smart outfit, or dressed down with some trainers (might as well hop on that ugly trainer trend!) for a more casual look.
I don’t use the word perfect very often, but the reason I so strongly use it about these trousers is because they have everything you’d want in a trouser. The belt loops mean that they could be styled with a plain black or white top with a belt to create a simplistic outfit, and the horn button adds an extra detail which completes the overall look.
I was so impressed that these trousers were £19.99 which I think is super reasonable and affordable for trousers like this, where you’d definitely pay £30+ for trousers like this in Topshop. Due to how versatile and easy to wear they are, I know I am definitely going to get my monies worth and be wearing these constantly throughout spring.
Make sure to follow my Instagram @kirsty.jade.x since I am sure these will definitely be featuring a lot on there!
